Frequently Asked Questions
Why am I hearing a lot about modular homes in the News?
The Irish Government’s Housing for All (A New Housing Plan for Ireland) recognises a housing shortage due to historical undersupply, population growth, and changing housing sizes (smaller families). Additionally, the labour shortage in all industries means the provision of homes using traditional methods of housing provision cannot keep up with demand. Therefore a change in policy is required.
Are homes built using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC’s) better than a traditional build home?
According to the Irish Government's Roadmap for increased adoption of MMC in Public Housing delivery found that MMC’s can provide exceptional reductions in many areas, including:
Time: up to 60%
Cost: up to 40%
Onsite Labour: up to 70%
